New storyboad upload.
I've uploaded a storyboard to google docs. It's pretty basic, but seems like a good way to use a jumpcut to hide an effect. That way we only have to do the effect for one take, and can do all the acting beforehand in several.
Plus, testing the system.
More to come.

Columbus Film Commission
Columbus Film Commission website
Contains directories for studios, equipment rental, permits, local safety laws, etc. Amazing resource.
UPDATE:
Holy crap, look at this location! It's in Frederickstown, near Mansfield, halfway between Columbus and Akron. It's absolutely fucking perfect, and according to the website looks like something we could get.

Though this location website is separate form the Columbus Film Commision, the contact info is the head of the CFC, Gail Mezey. We really need to contact her, this office seems like an amazing resource.

More legal/business books
After clicking on the Amazon page for The Reel Truth, Amazon recommended the following. They're all highly rated by users.
The Art of Film Funding: Alternative Financing Concepts
Bankroll: A New Approach to Financing Feature Films
The Independent Film Producer's Survival Guide: A Business and Legal Sourcebook
UPDATE: Also this one: Contracts for the Film and Television Industry
I'm going to go sign up for a library card.

A test entry and things to come
First of all, did this get automatically emailed to you, Adam? Because it should have.
So as we move forward in production, this blog will be used for updates, meeting minutes, status reports, etc. We should make good use of the Labels feature. You can check the sidebar to see what other labels have been used, and if your entry deals with similar stuff, add the same label. otherwise make one up.
then end

A new year now.
Wanted to make an update.
The following people have been invited to join the blog.
Katie Labovitz,
Santana Bobo,
Brian Baker,
Chris Triplette, and
John Spannhake
So hopefully they'll all join.
I hope to complete the press pack very soon, after which there will be loads to do. Let me know what you want to do.
I also would like to begin planning for a test scene, or trailer, to be shot this spring. If you have ideas for which scene would be good let me know. Feel free to leave comments about that. It needs to be a scene that gives a good feel for the movie but doesn't give away too much OR require too much prior knowledge of the plot.
Let me know.
Adam
p.s. The script: Unless an investor or a name actor prompts it, I do not expect any more revisions to the script. If you have notes on the script feel free to give them to me. I will store them and examine them again closer to shooting.

One more day
So Josh and I just had like a 3 or 4 hour conversation about the themes of the script, the motivation of the afflicted, where they come from, and a few instances of crappy dialog.
I'll be sending the script out tomorrow.
And the new new ending will be significantly better. and more relevant to the script.

Script Update
Hey,
So the script. On top of picking up an extra shift, and dealing with some car trouble (stupid snow), I've spent the last couple days typing up all the changes to the script. I'm going to look over stuff tomorrow, and maybe add another scene. But here's an overview of the changes.
Zack's backstory has been completely changed
The Lily Renee relationship has been strengthened.
The Tom Lily relationship has been strengthened
The Zack Jenn relationship has been strengthened
The Afflicted's eyes no longer turn black, now they bleed blackblood.
The first half of act two has been significantly re-ordered and tweaked.
Almost everything after page 86 has been completely re-written in which-
The Afflicted's motivation has been clarified.
and TONS AND TONS of little things.
The final draft is down one page to 95 pages. Though I'm considering adding a scene with Danny, so we'll see how it goes. I'm going to read through it one more time to check things, expect it to be mailed out tomorrow (tuesday) night. Sorry it's been slow, but I feel much more confident about the script now than I did before. (And I thought it was pretty awesome before)

Bio y Fundraising Ideas
Bio:
Evan Sayre (Lead Audio, Producer) is known for diving head-first into his projects with a creative approach and extreme motivation. His experience reaches across many strains of audio; from on-set recording to organizing recording time for bands and all aspects of post-production. Instead of being content with just holding a microphone and standing still, Evan has worked very hard in positions such as Lead Audio ("Class of '98"), Audio Post ("White Roses"), and Boom Op for a ghost hunting TV pilot, "Legend Tripping." His passion for sound shows in his determination to make everything sound as good as it looks.
"I'm bringing back the art of audio with a vengence."
Fundraising Ideas:
-There are numerous spots in the script for product placement... the magazine being read on the bus, the iPod (or other willing-to-donate MP3 player) and the band that is being listened to on the MP3 player.
-Along with Adam's idea of news coverage, we could talk to local newspapers and magazines and on top of promotions and interviews, maybe we could could have them come by during the filming? I guess this is more promotion than fundraising...
-Monthly dues for everyone... I know this would really suck but it's what the other company I work with does because they are in the process of getting started. We're not in college anymore and most of us have decent jobs... if we can get just 10 people to throw in $10 a month, over the next 6 months, that's $600. Granted, we will probably spend some personal money on the movie during production, but every little bit counts, right? This could also help fund our test shoot to show to investors.
-eBay scams.
-We should read that book by Bruce Campbell, at least the chapter about how they funded Evil Dead. Sounded like a good idea when we discussed it at the meeting.
Speaking of meetings- when is the next?
